“My daughter departed at her appointed time,” says NNPCL CEO Mele Kyari in emotional farewell to Fatima

The Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited, Mele Kolo Kyari, has penned an emotional farewell message for his daughter, Fatima. who died last Thursday at 25.

She was buried on Friday after prayers at Al-Nul Mosque in Maitama, Abuja.
Third-day prayers were held for her in Kyari’s residence on Sunday in Abuja attended by the high and mighty in the country including governors, ministers and top government functionaries.

On Tuesday, Kyari put out an emotional farewell message for his daughter on his X handle formerly twitter.

He thanked sympathizers who came to commiserate with him.

The message goes thus:
“My daughter Fatima departed at her appointed time and looking forward to meeting her in Jannah by Allah’s grace. While the loss is great by all measures, we remain grateful to God for all his mercies.

“I didn’t know the depth of her connections with many people and what she meant to many. Despite her physical challenges, she is able touch hearts in very soothing ways, including me.

“Above all, her demise brought many people together and demonstrated that we all can care for others irrespective of our social circumstances.

“I profoundly thank our leaders, family members, friends, associates, colleagues, our teachers and the countless unmentioned that joined us to pray for the repose of her soul and for consoling us.”
