My second term is assured, says Oyetola

Governor Gboyega Oyetola of Osun State, on Friday, said that his landmark achievements within the space of three and half years will make him triumph in the July 16 governorship election.
The governor expressed the confidence that he will rule the state for eight years.
Oyetola said this during a re-election campaign in Ila-Orangun, Ila Local Government Area (LGA) of the state.
Oyetola said that governance is not child’s play saying that the opposition parties especially the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) should go and prepare for governance before coming out to contest.
According to him, it would take PDP 30 years to contest again in Osun after losing the 2022 gubernatorial election.
He said: “The power is in my hand; I won’t drop it because your vote will retain it in my hand. My eight years in power as governor is sure with God on my side.
“It will take PDP 30 years to recover from the shock it (PDP) will receive due to the defeat the party will suffer in the July 16 governorship election.
“The opposition parties should use this period to prepare for governance rather than contesting. Governance is not child’s play.
“APC will emerge victorious in Osun. We are currently working on Ila/Arandun road. We have brought university to the community which will create job opportunities for youths. We have done this and you should reward us by voting us into power.
“We have plans and the wisdom to execute them. We invested in health, education, agriculture and other sectors massively. We are feeding 30,000 vulnerable every month.”
Oyetola, however, urged the electorates to go and collect their Permanent Voters Cards (PVCS) so as to be able to exercise their civic rights.
“They will be going about with money, Don’t be swayed by it. Don’t sell your children’s future. They will not be available after the election, they’re opportunists. But we are here for you any day. Don’t take an oath because of the opposition’s money,” he added.
