NDPC boss participates at 2025 CIPL conference in USA

The National Commissioner and CEO of the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC), Dr Vincent Olatunji, participated as a panelist alongside global data protection regulators at the Centre for Information Policy Leadership (CIPL) Annual Members’ Summit 2025 held in USA.

The agency on X stated that during the panel session titled “The Future of Effective Technology and Data Regulation, Oversight, and Enforcement,” the panelists discussed their oversight and enforcement priorities, as well as their approaches to balancing the conflicting demands of protecting individuals, ensuring compliance with applicable laws, and enabling innovation and the beneficial use of data and technology.

Dr Olatunji seized the opportunity to invite global privacy leaders to the upcoming Network of African Data Protection Authorities’

(NADPA – RAPDP) Conference and AGM, to be hosted by Nigeria in May 2025. Other Data Protection Regulators who participated in the panel included: Executive Director (Regulatory Risk), Information Commissioner’s Office, UK, Stephen Almond; Member, Garante, Italy, Guido Scorza
