NEW BRIDE: Oba Akanbi plans royal welcome for new Queen in Iwo tomorrow, releases pictures

More than two years after he and his former Canadian wife, Chanel, parted ways, it is no longer news that the Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrasheed Adewale Akanbi Telu I, has taken a new wife.

The new wife is a dazzling young princess from Kano, Hajiya Firdaus Abdullahi.
The news, however, is Oba Akanbi has arranged a lavish royal welcome for the princess in his Iwo domain.

Firdaus was unveiled at the weekend in a publication by Ovation Magazine owned by celebrity journalist and politician, Bashorun Dele Momodu, who is also a high chief in Iwo.

Firdaus’marriage to Oba Akanbi, by way of Nikkai, was recently formalized at Kano Central Mosque, Kano.

It was conducted without the presence of her hubby, Oba Akanbi, as demanded by tradition.

The bride was brought to her husband during the week.
However, the royal welcome is billed for Iwo tomorrow Sunday at 11 am in a ceremony that promises to be big.
