NIDCOM, Canadian High Commission partner on migration

The Canadian High Commission in Nigeria and Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM) have expressed readiness to partner on migration management.

This was made known when a delegation of the Canadian High Commission paid a courtesy visit to the Chairman/CEO of NIDCOM, Abike Dabiri-Erewa.

Speaking at the interaction, the Canadian High Commissioner to Nigeria, Dr Jamie Christoff emphasised the need to partner with Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM) for a mutually beneficial partnership and collaboration regarding migration management between Nigeria and Canada.

Dr Christoff said his team is ready to support the Commission with opportunities, time and expertise to achieve a better-managed migration.

While receiving the delegation, the Chairman/CEO of NiDCOM, Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, expressed her appreciation for the visit and the offer of partnerships, revealing some projects of the Commission with the Nigerian Diasporas in Canada.

Dabiri-Erewa added that the Commission, with the support of a Councillor in Canada, is working on a Canada Pull Factor as a pilot project to harmonize the data of Nigerians in Canada in line with the Diaspora Data Mapping Portal.
