The National Coordinator and CEO of the National Social Investment Programme Agency (NSIPA), Badamasi Lawal, has urged staff participating in a digital training workshop to leverage technology for improved delivery of government social intervention programmes.
Speaking at the opening of a three-day capacity-building workshop organized by the Government Enterprise and Empowerment Programme (GEEP) in collaboration with Frontier Systems Limited, Lawal emphasized the importance of digital tools in achieving the agency’s mandate of supporting vulnerable Nigerians.
Held at the Federal Secretariat in Abuja, the workshop, themed “Improving Beneficiary Outcomes with Digital Solutions,” aimed to equip NSIPA personnel with modern tools for managing and monitoring beneficiaries under various empowerment schemes.
“This training marks the beginning of a renewed commitment to excellence, innovation, and inclusive development,” Lawal said. “At NSIPA, our mandate is clear: to deliver impactful, evidence-driven social interventions aligned with President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.”
He noted that a core part of the president’s 8-point agenda is poverty reduction through targeted welfare initiatives, highlighting GEEP’s role in empowering petty traders, artisans, smallholder farmers, women, and youth.
A major focus of the training was the GEEP Dashboard, a digital platform for real-time tracking and analysis of beneficiary data. Dr. Lawal encouraged participants to fully engage with the training, describing their role as critical to delivering hope and opportunity.
“Behind every data point is a real individual depending on NSIPA to improve their life. The skills you gain here will shape how we meet that responsibility,” he added.
Also speaking at the event, Acting Head of GEEP, Mrs. Ifeoma Chukwumbah, reaffirmed the programme’s mission to expand financial inclusion through initiatives such as TraderMoni, MarketMoni, and FarmerMoni.
