Ogun monarch tasks Christians to emulate Jesus Christ

A traditional ruler in Ogun State, Oba Abdulrasheed Banjo, the Olokine of Ojowo, Ijebu Igbo, has tasked Christians to emulate and practice the philosophy of Jesus Christ.

Banjo enjoined various religious groups and organisations not to allow the suffering, death and resurrection of Jesus to be in vain .

The Monarch said it will not be in vain if Christians and the society at large demonstrate greater love as exemplified by Jesus when he laid down his life for his friends.

“Greater love should be evident in sharing with the less privilege, empathy to the needy, support to government in her developmental programmes even when it bites hard which is the lesson that should be learnt from Jesus when he endured the suffering on the cross”, said the Monarch.

He called on government at all levels to continue to execute programmes that will alleviate the suffering of the people, calling on the National Assembly to consider constitutional roles for traditional rulers in the ongoing constitution review.
