Omikunle wins PDP primary for Oyo House of Assembly bye-election

Yinka Omikunle has emerged as the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the Ibadan South East Constituency (2) bye-election.

Omikunle emerged the winner of the primary conducted by the party on Sunday to fill the vacuum created by the death last month of Hon. Olusegun Popoola, who was representing the constituency after a protracted illness at the University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan.

PDP Deputy National Chairman, Ambassador Taofeek Arapaja announced the result of the primary election.

According to him, the primary election was conducted in line with the electoral guidelines, adding that with the results of the primary, Omikunle becomes the party’s standard bearer for the bye-election.
