A member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) sustained gunshot wounds as the party’s primaries in Akure North/South and Idanre/Ifedore Federal Constituencies in Ondo State turned bloody on Friday.

Pandemonium broke out at Ade Super Hotel, Akure, the venue of the delegates election when some hoodlums snatched the ballot box.

The thugs, who invaded the counting hall went away with the box.

The presence of heavily armed policemen with Armoured Personnel Carrier (APC) did not deter the political thugs from invading the hall.

There were sporadic shootings as electoral officials, delegates and policemen took cover.

Addressing journalists after the incident, one of the contestants, Mayokun Alade said his agent at the election venue was beaten up and another supporter shot in the arm.

It was the same scenario at Igbara Oke in Ifedore Local Government Area where tension was reportedly high as at press time, with counting process set to begin
