Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has approved the suspension of a Senior Special Assistant on Civil Societies, Comrade Emmanuel Adebisi, with immediate effect.

The suspension, announced in a statement by the Governor’s spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, on Wednesday, is said to be temporal, pending the outcome of investigations led by the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Hon. Kazeem Akinleye.

While the official statement did not disclose the reason for Adebisi’s suspension, sources indicate that he is accused of diverting 70 bags of rice which were allocated to some Civil Society organizations during the recent Ileya Festival.

Sources have also revealed that following the suspension, Adebisi has reportedly been removed from the WhatsApp platform for Senior Special Assistants to Governor Ademola Adeleke.

In response to the allegations, Adebisi issued a statement on his verified Facebook page titled “Statement regarding false allegations against me, Hon. Comrade Adebisi Emmanuel,” dismissing the claims as misleading and untrue.

He asserted his continued dedication to his role, stating, “I continue to serve diligently in my capacity as Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Osun State, with unwavering commitment to my responsibilities.

“Any insinuation of my involvement in misconduct, particularly relating to the alleged diversion of 70 bags of rice intended for Osun Civil Societies during the Eid-el-Kabir festival, is entirely baseless and without merit.”

Adebisi further challenged anyone with evidence of his alleged misconduct to come forward, describing the accusations as the work of “bitter political fools.”

He reaffirmed his position within the Osun Government team and urged the media and public to disregard the misinformation being circulated.

As the investigation proceeds, the Governor’s office has yet to provide further details on the matter.
