Osun group backs Tinubu, Adeleke for second terms

A group of prominent stakeholders from various political parties in Osun State, the Osun Leaders of Thought (OLT), has declared its support for the second-term ambitions of both President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Ademola Adeleke.

The group made the declaration after its April meeting held in Ile-Ife, urging Osun citizens to rise above political affiliations and unite behind the leaders for the sake of credible governance at both federal and state levels.

According to a statement signed by OLT’s Chief of Public Affairs, Comrade Adesola Adigun, the group described President Tinubu as a true son of the Yoruba nation, whose bold reforms, though challenging, are necessary for Nigeria’s long-term stability.

Adigun, who noted that the group is focused on the interests of the people rather than partisan politics, said, “As we support President Tinubu, we also support Governor Ademola Adeleke. They are delivering the dividends of democracy, and we believe they should continue the good work.”

He commended Osun State Governor Adeleke for prioritizing infrastructure development, workers’ welfare, and other sectoral improvements, which the group said have significantly raised the standard of governance in the state.

The group further commended the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors’ Forum for distancing itself from an alleged political coalition orchestrated by some politicians, describing the governors’ stance as patriotic.

The OLT announced plans to remain discreet until June 2025, at which point it will expand its “Continuity of Progress” billboard campaign across Osun’s major towns and villages in support of both Tinubu and Adeleke.

While maintaining its neutrality, the group confirmed its non-affiliation with any political party and welcomed new members from all backgrounds starting in June 2025.
