The Commandant of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Osun State, Emmanuel Ocheja has called for synergy among security agencies and the citizens so as to have a safe state.

Ocheja who made the call aduring the 2022 International Civil Defence Day, noted that if there is synergy among security agencies, the crime rate in the state would be reduced to the barestminimum.

He stated that show of force does not work but show of intelligence.

” With show of intelligence, we will be able to curtail the excesses of the miscreants who are always looking for opportunity to cause mayhem that will be disastrous to the society. With intelligence, the state will be safe,” Ocheja said.

The NSCDC boss also frowned at the reluctance to provide information to security agents on the activities of hoodlums in the state

He said: “Once you have information, share it with any of the security agencies. Nobody have the entire power, nobody have the entire information, if you don’t share information, we are going nowhere as a nation.

” If we are able to share information, some of these hoodlums, miscreants causing mayhem will not be able to do it.”

The theme for thie year 2022 celebration is “Civil Defence and Management of Displaced Population in Face of Disaster and Crisis, Role of Volunteers and the Fight Against Pandemics”.
