Osun State government has validated the state’s Development Plan 2023-2050 in a bid to enhance the future development of the state.

Commissioner for Economic Planning, Budget and Development, Prof. Olalekan Yinusa, stated that the Revised State Development Plan (2023-2050) is not about any political party, but a plan for the future of the state.

Speaking at the validation exercise of the revised development plan, Yinusa said Osun needs to plan for the changing realities in the country which according to him will definitely have an impact on the future of the state, hence the need to plan.

The commissioner noted that the nation’s population growth has been projected to hit about 400m by 2050 while the population of Osun is projected to contribute about 10million to that figure.

While stressing that Governor Adegboyega Oyetola has decided not to wait till the changing realities crystalizes, the commissioner explained that the state has a leader, who is already planning because of his love for the people.

Yinusa urged political leaders not to mingle the development of any society with politics, but should have the interest of the people at heart.

Invited for the validation exercise were, members of the state executive council, representatives of political parties, House of Assembly members, NGOs, CSOs, market men and women among others.
