Oyo holds local government elections on Saturday 

 Local government elections are due to be held in Oyo State on Saturday and movement will be restricted during the poll.

The Chairman of the Oyo State Independent Electoral Commission (OYSIEC), Isiaka Olagunju confirmed this.

The election will be held across councillorship and chairmanship positions in the 33 local government areas of the state between 8 am and 3 pm.

The State Governor, Seyi Makinde, Thursday, declared Friday, April 26 as a half-working day for all public and civil servants in the state to encourage them to exercise their civic rights on Saturday.

The Peoples Democratic Party, the All Progressives Congress, and other political parties will participate in the election.
