Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), candidate in Abeokuta South Federal Constituency, Toyin Amuzu has rejected the results announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC) declaring the All progressives Congress, (APC) candidate, Hon. Afolabi Afuape as the winner of Saturday’s House of Representatives election.
The PDP local govt agent for the Constituency, Lukmon Ogunbayo, who made the declaration said the results were with many irregularities such as inflated figures, manipulations, fraud, over-voting and vote buying among others.
Ogunbayo said having studied the election carefully, the announced results did not conform or reflect the votes and wishes of the people of Abeokuta South Local Government.

He said: “It was discovered that in some instances, the number of total valid votes superseded the number of accredited voters, an anomaly which cannot be overlooked.
“There is a case where BVAS could not capture or work properly and the people were allowed to vote in ward 10, unit 6. Incidence of vote buying also pervaded the entire process. Indeed, this is not a true reflection of the votes and wishes of the people.”
INEC had announced Afuape as the winner having polled 19,899, Amuzu got 13,663 votes.
