PDP suspends Fayose, Anyim, sends Ortom to disciplinary committee over anti-party activities

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has announced the suspension of former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, former Senate President, Anyim Pius Anyim and two others over anti-party activities.
The party also referred Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom to its disciplinary committee over the same offence.
This was contained in a statement by the National Publicity Secretary of the party, Debo Ologunagba.
Others suspended were Prof. Dennis Ityavyar from Benue State and Dr. Aslam Aliyu from Zamfara State.
While Fayose openly campaigned for President-elect Asíwájú Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress, Ortom and Anyim also backed Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi.
Fayose was also seen in Lagos campaigning with Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu before Saturday’s governorship election.
It would be recalled that the party had earlier expelled Fayose’s son – who was its House of Representatives candidate and others from Ekiti.
