PHOTO NEWS: NSA, Defence Ministers meet 19 Northern Governors over insecurity

National Security Adviser on Thursday in Abuja in the company of the two Ministers of Defence, Abubakar Badaru and Bello Mattawalle met with Governors of 19 Northern states over spate of insecurity in the region.

Inuwa Yahaya The Chairman of Northern States Governors’ Forum and Governor of Gombe State at the meeting told journalists that the Governors are not opposed to other non-kinetic approaches to tackling the problem. He echoed the growing consensus among stakeholders that addressing the complex security challenges plaguing the northern region and Nigeria at large requires a united front and coordinated action among security forces and government agencies at all levels.

Ministers of Police Affairs, and Interior, as well as the nation’s security chiefs also attended the meeting.

The meeting, convened by the National Security Adviser in Abuja, was aimed at strategizing on combating the escalating security threats in the northern region.
