A female lawyer, Bolanle Raheem was on Christmas Day killed by an unnamed policeman in Lagos.
WesternPost gathered that the incident happened Sunday morning in the Ajah area of the state when the deceased and her family were returning from Church.
The policemen who were from Ajiwe Police State had flagged down the car the late Raheem was in. It was learnt that the husband of the deceased, who was driving, was trying to negotiate where to park before one of the policemen shot at the car, with the bullet hitting the deceased on the chest.
Lagos State Police Command Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin who confirmed the incident on Twitter, said the concerned officer and two others have been apprehended and are in custody.
“Unfortunate and avoidable incident that was. The ASP that shot and two others with him have since been taken into custody. They are to be moved to the SCID for further investigation,” Hundeyin wrote on Twitter.
“The Lagos State Police Command condoles with the family, friends and colleagues of Barrister Bolanle Raheem.
“The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, Abiodun Alabi, has been in touch with the family and the Nigerian Bar Association since yesterday and has given firm assurances that justice will definitely prevail.”
