The Assistant Inspector-General of Police overseeing Zone 2 Command, AIG Olatoye A. Durosinmi has directed Commissioners of Police in both states of Lagos and Ogun, alongside Tactical Unit Commanders and officers within the Zone, to enforce increased security measures.

AIG Durosinmi disclosed this on Friday in a statement signed by Zonal Police Public Relations Officer, SP Ayuba .T. Umma.

Enjoining residents of the sister states to be law-abiding, he stated that the objective of the directive was to guarantee the safety and security of residents throughout the Easter holiday, with traffic flow closely monitored to prevent congestion and ensure smooth movement.

According to the statement, the measures encompass heightened patrols and security presence at various locations including religious centers, shopping malls, tourist attractions, marketplaces, commercial districts, social gatherings, and residential areas.

Additionally, keen attention of officers will be directed towards highways, motor parks, relaxation centers, train stations, critical national infrastructure, and government and private properties.

AIG Durosinmi further urged residents to celebrate freely, stressing the significance of collaboration between law enforcement and the public for a secure environment.

The Zone 2 Police Command also admonished residents to promptly report suspicious activities or crimes to the nearest police station or by calling the Zone 2 Command on 08100025614.
