Sanwo-Olu condoles Borno over deadly bomb attacks

Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has expressed his condolences to the Government and people of Borno following a series of bomb attacks in the Gwoza Local Government Area of the state, which left several dead and many injured.

The attacks reportedly occurred on Saturday during two separate ceremonies: a wedding and funeral respectively.

In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Gboyega Akosile, Governor Sanwo-Olu extended his deepest sympathies to the families of the victims and the residents of Gwoza affected by the tragic events.

While highlighting the pain and sorrow caused by the loss of innocent lives and injuries sustained in the occurrence, he described the attacks as “regrettable and depressing” and offered prayers for peace and comfort to the community.

He further assured the people of Gwoza and Borno State that the government and people of Lagos State stand in solidarity with them.

Governor Sanwo-Olu also specifically addressed his Borno counterpart, Babagana Zulum, emphasizing the readiness of his government to supporting the affected state in their period of grief and turmoil.
