Senator Bamidele, Ekiti caucus pledge support for Gov Oyebanji’s second term

The Senate Leader, Opeyemi Bamidele, has announced that he and other members of the Ekiti State caucus in the National Assembly will support Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s bid for a second term in office. Bamidele cited the governor’s outstanding performance and leadership as the basis for their decision.

During an inspection of constituency projects in Igede-Ekiti on Friday, Bamidele praised Oyebanji’s transformative leadership and people-oriented policies, noting their significant impact on the state’s development.

Accompanied by the governor, Bamidele highlighted the governor’s ability to unify various political factions and foster a collaborative atmosphere.

Bamidele revealed that the National Assembly members from Ekiti would soon publicly endorse Oyebanji’s second-term candidacy. He emphasized that the governor’s cooperation with the Assembly members has enabled the successful execution of numerous constituency projects across the Ekiti Central Senatorial district.

“I want to use this opportunity to thank our Governor,” Bamidele said. “If you elected somebody to represent you in Abuja and he comes back home to do something, it is because they allowed him to come back home. If they don’t allow us, we will just remain in Abuja and we will not pass our boundary.”

He expressed gratitude for Oyebanji’s collaborative approach, which includes providing a list of priority projects for the Assembly members to implement. “Your Excellency, we are proud of you, and by the grace of God, like everyone is saying, anybody that thinks there is a vacancy in 2026 is only deceiving himself.”

Bamidele pledged to rebuild the Igede-Ekiti market to match the standards of Iyin Ekiti and to replicate market, solar power, road, and hospital projects across the six local government areas in the district.

In response, Governor Oyebanji commended the commitment of Bamidele and his National Assembly colleagues to the development of Ekiti State. He emphasized the importance of electing representatives with proven integrity and capacity to drive progress.
