Members of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities, the Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational Associated Institutions, and the National Association of Academic Technologists (University of Lagos Chapter), on Wednesday organized a peaceful protest at the school’s entrance.

They effectively halted vehicular movement, causing disruption to traffic flow in the area. Chanting slogans and brandishing various placards, they voiced their dissatisfaction with the Federal Government’s decision to withhold their salaries.

The Joint Action Committee (JAC) of SSANU and NASU had been pressing the government for attention for approximately a month, highlighting their exclusion from salary payments that commenced for the Academic Staff Union of Universities back in February, with NAATS also joining, as it began a three-day warning strike today.

The striking workers have had their salaries withheld when the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari invoked a ‘No Work, No Pay policy’ against the ASUU, SSANU and NAATS who embarked on a strike that lasted eight months, four months and five-and-half months respectively in 2022.
