The Minister of Water Resources and Sanitation, Joseph Utsev, has affirmed the importance of strict adherence to Local content policy in the production of water infrastructure to ensure its durability and sustainability.

He made this affirmation during a visit to Panar Limited, a leading piping solutions manufacturing company in Kano, Tuesday, according to a statement signed by the ministry Director Press and Public Relations,  Funmi Imuetinyan.

Highlighting the Federal Government’s commitment to sustainable water projects nationwide, Utsev emphasized the need for high-quality materials to prevent project failures.

He called for collaboration with local manufacturers to promote superior goods and deter the use of substandard products.

Utsev decried the use of inferior materials in water infrastructure, warning of potential project failures and unsafe water consequences. He announced plans for inspections to enforce compliance with quality standards in water infrastructure across Nigeria.

He urged states, local governments, and private sector investors to prioritize local production of water infrastructure to prevent system failures, abandoned facilities, and the installation of water pipes that won’t withstand the test of time.

Commending Panar Ltd. for its adherence to National and International standards, particularly its flagship HDPE pressure pipe products, Utsev praised the company’s contributions to various projects across Nigeria.

In response, Shiv Daryani, Managing Director of Panar Ltd., expressed gratitude for the Minister’s recognition and reaffirmed the company’s commitment to quality and innovation.

He highlighted that Panar Ltd. has been a prominent manufacturer of HDPE Pipes & Segmented Fittings, uPVC Pipes, and PPR Pipes in Nigeria since 1976.

He revealed that the company is renowned for excellence, innovation, and reliability, serves various sectors, including civil, agricultural, water reticulation, and industrial production.

Daryani extends gratitude to the Honourable Minister of Water Resources and his team for their valuable insights,  reaffirms its dedication to excellence and eagerly anticipates further collaborations in advancing Nigeria’s water infrastructure.

The event culminated in an inspection tour of Panar Ltd.’s facility by the Honourable Minister and his entourage.
