Supreme Court affirms Abiodun’s election as Ogun State governor

The Supreme Court has affirmed the election of Dapo Abiodun as Governor of Ogun State.

The apex court in its ruling on Friday affirmed the judgment of the Court of Appeal which declared Abiodun as the winner of the March 18, 2023 governorship election in the state.

A five-member panel of the court, in a unanimous judgment a moment ago, dismissed the appeal by Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Oladipupo Adebutu.

Justice Tijjani Abubakar, who read the lead judgment, held that Adebutu and his party failed to prove their case.

Justice Abubakar in dismissing the case, resolved all the issues raised for determination against the appellants and held that the appeal was without merit.
