Supreme Court to rule on Kano governorship election Thursday
The Supreme Court will rule on the governorship election in Kano State on Thursday.
The court fixed Thursday for the hearing of the appeal brought by Kabiru Yusuf of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) after the court of appeal affirmed the ruling of the election petition tribunal to upturn his election.
The appeal court and the tribunal ruled that All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate Nasiru Gunuwa won the election.
They directed the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to withdraw the Certificate of Return issued Yusuf and give another one to Gunuwa as the duly elected governor of the state.
