Tension as gunmen abduct four in Abuja

Gunmen struck the community of Bmuko, located in Dutse Baupma, Bwari Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) on Monday night, abducting four residents in a brazen attack.

Eyewitnesses recounted the harrowing experience revealing that the assailants, numbering more than 30, stormed the residence of one Engineer Patrick, around 11:50 pm.

The witness added that the gunmen seemed to have targeted the residence of Engineer Patrick, seizing his wife and brother among their victims. The attackers fired indiscriminately before breaking into the engineer’s house.

Disclosing that the ordeal didn’t end there, sources further stated the gunmen split into groups, with one heading towards the riverside leading to Kubwa and Bwari, while the other ventured towards the hillside.

They would strike again at a nearby house, snatching a Pastor and another individual.

Responding to the ugly development, community leaders expressed frustration over the lack of a police outpost in Bmuko despite repeated pleas.

They also lamented the absence of swift action from security forces, with soldiers and police scrambling to locate the abductors to no avail.

Authorities, including the FCT Police, were contacted for confirmation but had not responded at the time of reporting, leaving the community anxiously awaiting updates on the fate of the kidnapped residents.
