President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of four new members to the Governing Council of the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), reinforcing the board’s leadership and filling existing vacancies.
The new appointees are Mr. Olusegun Omosehin of the National Insurance Commission (NAICOM) and Engr. Wole Ogunsanya, representing the Petroleum Technology Association of Nigeria (PETAN).
Also joining the council are Mazi Sam Azoka Onyechi from the Nigerian Content Consultative Forum (NCCF) and Barrister Owei Oyanbo from the Ministry of Petroleum Resources.
The appointments were announced in a statement issued on Wednesday by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy.
These appointments follow the departure of previous institutional representatives, ensuring continuity in the council’s mandate to oversee local content development in Nigeria’s oil and gas sector.
The NCDMB Governing Council, established under the Nigerian Oil and Gas Industry Content Development (NOGICD) Act, 2010, includes representatives from key institutions such as the Ministry of Petroleum Resources, the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC), the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), PETAN, COREN, NCCF, and NAICOM.
President Tinubu urged the newly appointed members to apply their expertise and commitment to strengthening Nigeria’s local content policies and advancing growth in the energy sector.
