Caroline Wuraola Adepoju, who has been serving as the acting Comptroller General (CG) of the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) since May 29, 2023, has been confirmed by President Bola Tinubu as the substantive CG.

She made the announcement to the staff of the NIS during the Comptroller General’s parade on Wednesday in Abuja, the nation’s capital.

She said, “You may also wish to know that through the grace of God and by the benevolence of the present government, I have been confirmed as a substantive Comptroller General of Immigration,” according to a statement by the Public Relations Unit of the Service.

She also disclosed that some members of the top management team who participated in a promotion exam have been promoted to the ranks of Deputy Comptrollers General.

She said the date for their decoration and hers would be announced soon.

Adepoju also paid tribute to some officers who lost their lives in the line of duty some weeks ago, and asked for a minute of silence in their honour. She prayed that the Almighty God rest their souls.

She thanked all the officers and men for their support to the NIS leadership. She especially appreciated the top management team, Zonal Coordinators, State Comptrollers and Passport Officers both at home and abroad.
