Tinubu, medical professionals proffer solutions for Nigeria’s health sector

The All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on Monday engaged health professionals at a town-hall meeting in Abuja.

The engagement featured robust and articulate discussions on how Nigeria’s health sector could best be repositioned.

Represented by his vice presidential candidate, Sen. Kashim Shettima at the event put together by the APC-PCC Medical Directorate in Abuja, Asiwaju reiterated his commitment towards overhauling the health sector, and said he was committed to increased budgetary provisions as well as review of policies to sustain and advance the development of both human, material and structural resources in the sector.

On their part, the medical professionals tabled viable solutions for the next administration to use as a workable strategy to resolve the perennial problem of brain drain plaguing the health sector.

Appreciating the participants and speakers at the town hall, the APC PCC Head of the Medical Directorate, Dr. Ikechukwu Odikpo, noted that Tinubu’s manifesto on healthcare covers critical areas such as human resources, brain drain, health tourism, infrastructure, universal health care and health financing.
