Tinubu sympathises with Canada over fire incident at High Commission in Abuja

President Bola Tinubu of Nigeria has expressed his sympathy with the Canadian government and all persons affected by a fire incident that occurred on Monday at the Canadian High Commission in Abuja.

The fire incident claimed the lives of some diplomatic and local staff of the High Commission and injured others. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

In a press statement released by his media adviser, Ajuri Ngelale, President Tinubu assured the Canadian authorities of the full support of the Nigerian government in the aid of the victims and the restoration of the High Commission.

“The President assures the Canadian authorities of the full support of the Nigerian government in the aid of diplomatic and local staff of the High Commission who were particularly affected by the incident,” the statement read.

President Tinubu also prayed for the repose of the departed souls and wished all injured persons a rapid and full recovery.
