Two children, mother, bike man die in Osun motor accident

Four persons were reportedly killed including two children in a ghastly auto accident in Ode-Omu, Ayedaade Local Government of Osun State.

The accident which occured around Obada market in Ode-Omu around 6am on Saturday involved a private car and a motorcycle and carrying the children and their mother.

It was gathered that the private car with registration number BDG 481 JD (Lagos) was coming from Osogbo to Ibadan when it rammed into the motorcycle that faced Osogbo. It was also said that the car itself crashed somewhere.

It was further learnt that immediately the people in the car saw dead bodies on ground, they came out and started running, but  people caught them as one person escaped among the three of them. 

Confirming the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Yemisi Opalola, affirmed that four persons were killed in the incident, including two children, their mother and the bike man.

She said, ” The people on the bike, were coming from church vigil, and going to Ogi (their church is located in Odeomu). Two children were at the front, another one at the middle and another was backed, their mother included on the bike. The two children died instantly, including their mother and the bike man. Just one child didn’t die.

“The child that was backed was the only one that didn’t die. They were four persons that died on the bike.

” Three people were in the car and one of them (driver) escaped immediately the accident happened. The two other occupants of the vehicle were caught by the angry mob and were burnt around that Obada river. Later we quenched the fire, rescued them and transferred them to hospital in Osogbo.”
