UK Election: Tinubu congratulates Starmer on Labour Party’s victory

President Bola Tinubu has extended his warm congratulations to Sir Keir Starmer, leader of the Labour Party, on the party’s victory in the United Kingdom general election.

In a statement released by his spokesperson, Ajuri Ngelale, on Friday, President Tinubu praised Sir Starmer for the determination and courage he displayed throughout his years in the opposition and as leader of the Labour Party.

The President highlighted the Labour Party’s ability to reform, mobilize, and secure victory after 14 years, attributing this success to Sir Starmer’s leadership qualities.

President Tinubu also congratulated the citizens and government of the United Kingdom, describing the country as a steadfast model of democracy and a long-standing partner of Nigeria.

He expressed his eagerness to deepen relations between Nigeria and the United Kingdom in areas of mutual interest, strengthen democratic institutions, and build a safer and more prosperous future for the people of both nations.
