Unknown gunmen assassinate FIRS employee in Abuja

Tragedy struck in Maitama, Abuja, on Friday night as unidentified gunmen fatally shot Khalid Bichi, a middle-aged man and employee of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS).
The incident reportedly occurred before 9 pm while Bichi was out to purchase food.
Eyewitness reports indicate that the assailants, whose identities remain unknown, approached Bichi and opened fire, striking him multiple times before fleeing the scene.
Despite being rushed to Maitama General Hospital, Bichi succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
Further details reveal that Bichi was an active presence on social media, using the username @Khalid Bichi, and had ties to prominent political figures.
His funeral is scheduled for today, Saturday, with prayers to be held at 1:30 pm at the Abuja National Mosque.
The police are yet to issue a confirmation of the incident as at the time of filing this report.
