The Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, has shed light on key discussions held between President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Mr. Massad Boulos, a Senior Advisor for Africa under former U.S. President Donald Trump’s administration.

Speaking on the outcome of the meeting, which took place Thursday in Paris, Onanuga revealed that the United States is eager to work closely with President Tinubu to bolster American investment in Nigeria and across Africa.

The engagement, he said, signals a renewed commitment from the U.S. to support energy and infrastructure development, while aligning efforts around trade and job creation.

In a statement issued on Sunday, Onanuga said the discussions, held under the banner of strategic economic and security cooperation, also addressed pressing regional issues, including peace and stability in the eastern Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and the Sahel.

He added that the U.S. advisor acknowledged Nigeria’s growing leadership role in Africa and expressed support for President Tinubu’s ongoing diplomatic efforts to restore stability in key regions.

President Tinubu, Onanuga noted, reaffirmed Nigeria’s openness to building strong, transparent partnerships with the United States—partnerships anchored in mutual respect and aimed at elevating Africa’s place in the global economy.
