Uzodimma embarks on statewide tour over security concerns

To restore confidence of the people in security and government apparatus to protect them, Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma on Tuesday embarked on statewide tour.

The governor said the tour of 27 local governments across the state will also be used to inspect ongoing projects in each of the local government and drive grassroots development.

In the last few weeks, IPOB terrorists and members of its affiliate, Eastern Security Network (ESN) have unleashed violence across the state by attacking offices of Independent National Electoral Commission and local government offices.

Uzodimma commended some young people of the state that received him and his entourage at Oru West and Oguta local governments.

“Yesterday, I commenced a tour round the 27 Local Government Areas of our dear Imo State with a view to further instilling confidence and assurance to the people on government’s commitment to grassroots development.

“It was quite interesting, having a large number of youths present at the Oru West and Oguta LGAs, as visited. I had quite an interactive session with the youths as I admonished them to shun violence and immoral indulgence.

“The tour which served as a supervisory visit, provided an opportunity to assess the level of work on our ongoing projects in the LGAs and identification of those requiring immediate attention, which we shall address in due course.

“My visit wouldn’t have been complete without preaching the message of peace. I appealed to our people of Oru West and Oguta, for an embrace of peace and order, which paves the way for greater democratic dividends.

“Thank you “umu nne’m” ndi Oru West and Oguta LGAs for your love and support, for together, we shall achieve more,” the governor said.
