Video: Africa is creating an enabling environment in the mining sector, says Alake

The Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Dr. Dele Alake, said Africa is creating an enabling environment to attract investment in the mining sector and sanitizing the mining sector environment with an emphasis on adding value to local production.

The Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Dr. Dele Alake participated in a panel session titled ” Positioning Africa to Succeed in Diversifying Global Value Chains” on the sidelines of the Investing in Africa Indaba, Cape Town, South Africa. Other panelists include Minister of Industry, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), H.E Julien Paluku; Secretary General, International Lithium Association, Roland Chavasse; CEO, Austine, Christine Stewart; National Director for Mineral Resources, Dr. Paulo Tanganha.

The Minister who participated in a panel session titled “Positioning Africa to Succeed in Diversifying Global Value Chains” on the sidelines of the Investing in Africa Indaba, South Africa, said, “We are sanitizing the mining sector environment, creating the enabling environment to attract investment, whether local or foreign.

“Of course this time around, emphasis must be on core value addition so that henceforth, Africa can gain maximally from these abundant natural resources.”
