VP Shettima arrives in Dakar for Senegal’s Independence Day celebrations

Vice President Kashim Shettima arrived in Dakar, Senegal, on Thursday evening to represent President Bola Tinubu at the country’s 65th Independence Day celebrations.
Shettima, accompanied by the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, and the Chairman of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs, Hon. Oluwole Oke, was received at the Léopold Sédar Senghor International Airport, where he inspected a Guard of Honour.
His visit follows an official invitation from Senegalese President Bassirou Diomaye Faye, reaffirming the strong diplomatic ties between Nigeria and Senegal.
The Independence Day celebrations are scheduled to take place on April 4 at Place de la Nation in Dakar, featuring parades and official ceremonies. The Vice President is expected to return to Nigeria after the event.
