We didn’t abandon Uncle Seun, Made Kuti replies critics

Made Kuti, a scion of the Kuti family and first son of Afrobeat musician Femi Kuti has said the family has not abandoned his uncle Seun Kuti contrary to social media insinuations.

Made, slammed critics via a a tweet on Wednesday that the family is with Seun who is having a running battle with the police.

Made and his dad, Femi were in court to support his brother, Seun, who was arraigned for assaulting a policeman.

Sharing a photo of him and his father in court, he wrote: “At court yesterday. I don’t like that we have to post things on social media to show/prove we’re doing everything we can as a family. But here you go.

“Because of this, many are cursing at us under my father’s last post, swearing at us for doing nothing. We must accept there’s much more to life than what we see on our phones.”

Seun, in a video that went viral on May 13, was seen slapping a police officer on the Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos.

On Tuesday, the police arraigned the singer on charges bordering on assault before a Magistrates’ Court in the Yaba area of the state.
