Alake disowns fake WhatsApp impersonator (Photo)

The Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Dr Dele Alake has dissociated himself from the antics of a fraudster who is using a phone number on the social media platform of WhatsApp to impersonate the minister.

A press release by the Special Assistant on Media to the Minister, Segun Tomori stated that the con artist using the picture of Dr. Alake and the phone number +234 707 743 7582 is not connected to the minister, his assistants, or anybody else working in the minister’s office.

The media aide said: “This is the handiwork of an impostor. The Minister urges the public to disregard any correspondence or communication supposedly from him through the said contact number.

“This serves as a disclaimer while we work with the security agencies to identify the culprit and bring upon him the full weight of the law.”
