The Southeast Governors are currently meeting with key stakeholders in the region in Government House, Enugu.

The Obi of Onitsha, Igwe Alfred Achebe, was said to be in attendance as well.

According to Sources, all the governors from the region, namely Alex Otti of Abia, Hope Uzodimma of Imo, Charles Soludo of Anambra, Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi State, and the host governor, Mr. Peter Mbah were present physically.

As at the time of filing this report, the purpose of the meeting remains unknown.

Although, there are speculations that the meeting may not be unconnected with the security challenges facing the region, concerns about regional integration and development and also the issues surrounding the continued detention of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu.

WESTERN POST reports that some weeks ago, the South West governors meet in a closed door in Lagos Government House to discuss issues of interest to the western region.

At the meeting, the governors elected Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos as their Chariman and resolved to find lasting solution to food insecurity in the region.

They also came up with a regional anthem for Southwest and also agreed to promote western region integration and development.
