Lagos police apprehend fake soldier, military uniform’s supplier


Detectives of the Lagos State Police Command have apprehended a fake soldier, Oluwatosin Gabriel during enforcement of the total ban on motorcycles in some parts of the state.

WesternPost learnt that investigation carried out by the detectives led to the arrest of the supplier of the military uniforms, whose name was given as Nurudeen Agboola.

The Command’s spokesman, Benjamin Hundeyin, in a statement, confirmed the arrest, saying that investigation was ongoing to establish the extent of the suspects’ criminality.

Hundeyin further said the suspects would be arraigned at the conclusion of investigation.

He added: “The following items were recovered from the fake soldier and his supplier: four pairs of military camouflage uniform, nine live cartridges, military identity cards, police accoutrements and charms.

“Investigation is ongoing to establish the extent of their criminality. Suspects would be arraigned at the conclusion of investigation.

“Meanwhile, the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Alabi, commended the detectives, charging officers and men of the Command to redouble efforts towards sustaining the safety and security existing in the state.”
