LG Polls: KWASIEC extends deadline for party primaries to July 4

Kwara State Independent Electoral Commission (KWASIEC) has announced the extension in the date of political parties primaries to Thursday July 4th this year.

The Umpire has earlier pegged the date for deadline of primaries to Sunday June 30th.

This was contained in a statement signed by the Chairman of the Commission Baba Okanla on Thursday in Ilorin.

“In deference to appeals by different political parties for more time for their primaries, the Kwara State Independent Electoral Commission hereby extends the deadline for the exercise to Thursday, July 4, 2024.

The initial deadline was Sunday, June 30, 2024″ it read.

The statement stated that further adjustments to other activities, if any, will be communicated to the public as may become necessary.
