2023: APC women wing mobilise support for Tinubu, others

The women wing of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Badagry Division, Lagos State, on Wednesday converged at Amuwo Odofin Local Government, to mobilize women for the presidential candidate of the party, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his vice presidential candidate, Kashim Shettima.

The meeting which was organized by the former deputy governor of the state, Princess Sarah Sosan, was attended by another former deputy governor and senatorial candidate of the party in Lagos West, Dr. Idiat Adebule, wife of the APC leader in Lagos West, Yeye Oluwa, Badagry Division Woman Leader, Mana Ajao, Chairman, Oriade LCDA, Ramota Akinola-Hassan and women leaders in Lagos West, amongst others.

In her welcome address, Sosan said that the meeting was crucial for the women leaders to exchange ideas on the best way to massively mobilise and sensitise women to drum support for all APC candidates.

She reiterated that it was time for women to rise to the responsibility of being part of a new Lagos West that was about to be birthed, urging them to come out en-masse during the elections to vote for all APC candidates.

“Lagos is the home for everyone. The state is a model of unity and would continue to prove its leading role in the polity of the nation by making a statement with their votes come 2023. I will urge you to canvass support from everyone you come across in the state without ethnic biases.

“All members of the party must continue with the foundation of inclusiveness laid by Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, that stand in the oneness of Nigeria.

“As we look forward to a better Nigeria and approach the 2023 elections, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu remains the answer. For our senatorial candidate, Adebule, her experience and character has brought her thus far and we shall give her our support to ensure she emerges the next senator in Lagos west,” Sosan said.

In her comments, Adebule said that Badagry Division believe in the vision for a New Nigeria and that only one man has the capacity to lead the country in 2023, ‘which is Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’.

Adebule said: “We in Badagry Division want to be mentioned amongst those who made the new Nigeria possible”.

She encouraged women to stand to the task of winning all polling units across the country for APC and most importantly to vote for her as the Senator, Lagos West.

Adebule noted that the meeting was a strategic move towards rallying support for the APC because it remains the party to beat at all levels.

She added that she would ensure effective and regular training programmes for women at the grassroots to build their capacities across all spheres of life, if elected.

“Women are gathered here to plan and strategize towards the coming elections. When I get there, I will not disappoint them. Women and youths economic empowerment, with trainings will be a commonplace. We will ensure our women are not left behind in government initiatives and programmes,” she said.
