Contrary to the impression in some quarters particularly in some prominent online platforms, Ondo State Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu died in Karzai, Germany and not Lagos, Nigeria as widely reported.

WesternPost can report that, that is one fallacy about the late governor’s situation.
The second is about the cause of his death.

Governor Akeredolu suffered and died from prostrate cancer and not leukemia as some news organizations reported.

The former governor was flown to Germany two Sundays ago for treatment.
His wife, children and some aides were still trying to perfect their travel papers when he died early this morning.

It was learnt that the late governor’s predicament became complicated by a fall he recorded on June 4, 2023, which he did not pay much attention to.

This incident, however, resulted in a blood clot around his head, which became problematic.

After the initial surgery in the affected area of his head, he was certified okay and was working and conversing well, culminating in his return from Germany. However, informed family sources said when he returned he suffered another fall again in Nigerian which compounded his situation.

The former governor, it was learnt battled prostate cancer and not leukemia as widely reported.

But some family sources also attributed the former governor’s situation to spiritual issues.

According to them, each time Governor Akeredolu returned, he would be well only for the illness to relapse.

They attributed the governor’s grouse with some powerful people to include the upgrade of some traditional rulers in the state and the matter of the forest reserve review.
