Lagos Police rescues robbery suspects from mob

Two robbery suspects, Kehinde Olayinka and Junior Olanrewaju have been rescued by the Police from an angry mob and subsequently detained.

The duo aged 22 and 21 respectively were part of a five man gang accused of robbing a passerby of her phone on Tuesday night.

According to reports, while a passerby was making a phone call at about 11pm, five young men in a tricycle accosted her and robbed her of her expensive phone. The victim would quickly raised an alarm, prompting concerned residents to chase after the men.

In the long run, three of the suspects escaped, while two were apprehended.

Officers of Bode Thomas Division got wind of it and raced to the scene where they had arrived quickly enough to rescue Olayinka and Olanrewaju from an angry mob.

Lagos Police Command Spokesman, SP Benjamin Hundeyin confirming the incident on Wednesday via his official X handle reveled that investigations were ongoing to apprehend the other fleeing suspects.
