In a decisive move, the Lagos State Government has taken a firm stance against violators of building regulations within the state.

Special Adviser to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on EGIS and Urban Planning, Dr. Olajide Babatunde, on Tuesday, delivered a stern warning to those disregarding the law, during a routine inspection in the Ikoyi axis of the state.

Accompanied by Arc Gbolahan Oki, the General Manager of the Lagos State Building Control Agency (LASBCA), Dr. Babatunde addressed journalists, emphasizing the consequences for individuals embarking on construction without proper authorization.

He stressed that anyone initiating construction without a revalidated permit from LASBCA would face legal repercussions.

During the two-hour inspection, LASBCA officials took action, sealing off four buildings found to be in violation of state building regulations.

Among these properties were those situated at 13 Oroki Street, Queen Drive, and 41-42 Alexander Road in Ikoyi.

The government’s crackdown signals a proactive approach to uphold building standards and ensure the safety of residents in Lagos State.
